Most pages on this site will feature a "Messages" box (which will appear in the right column of boxes if there is one). You can use this to send messages to:

  • The Site Administrator (for site-level questions)
  • Your Course Facilitator or Teacher (for course-level conversations)
  • Fellow Students

On the Messages Page, you can maintain a list of "My Contacts" that you want to interact with. Simply select "My Contacts" from the drop-down menu and click on the person you will to contact.

You can also use the drop-down menu to select one of the courses you are enrolled in, and choose one of the course participants to send a message to.

When you select a Contact, their picture will show on the right side of the page, along with a link to add or remove them from your "My Contacts" list. A good practice when you first enroll in a course is to add your instructor to your "My Contacts" so you can reach them easily.

You can also control how you receive messages. In the "Settings" box, under "My Profile Settings" you will find a link for "Messaging" settings. There you can select whether you want to be notified by email when you have a message, as well as a few other controls.
